Harlan Guthrie

Harlan Guthrie is a Canadian writer, editor, director, sound designer, musician, and voice actor. He is the sole creator and talent behind Malevolent, the Lovecraftian horror Audio Drama which is part of the Rusty Quill Network and runner up to the 2021 Discover Pods awards.

As a writer, a number of his works have been featured on the multi-award winning NoSleep Podcast and as an Audio Engineer he worked on Season 2 of The Town Whispers. His creation credits include the founding of the weekly streaming group The INVICTUS Stream as well as the Actual Play D&D podcast Dice Shame which he also edits and stars in. As a musician, he’s composed the main musical themes of Malevolent as well as wrote and recorded the musical motifs in Season 2 of Dice Shame.

Most recently he is producer, director, editor and sound designer for the 8-part Audio Drama Séance: High Falls released by Soundbooth Theatre. Harlan’s production credits also include both seasons of the collaborative podcast series Nine to Midnight and the Immersive Audio Series created by ixp41.

Though he’s a lover of all things nerdy and has a passion for storytelling in all its forms, his heart belongs to his son Henry and his wife Jo, with whom he produces a yearly satirical Christmas radio show.
