The Code

In March I wrote a novel.

I wrote it partly as a way to prove to myself that I could create a long-form narrative, partly because a friend had thought that if I wrote a novel in this genre (GameLit) it could be of interest to people… and partly because I was bored.

For better or worse I’ve completed it and over the past two months I’ve been releasing it chapter by chapter on Royal Road. This morning I posted the final chapter and I feel relieved; not just from putting this story out but from taking a shot at writing something that people will read.

The story is not groundbreaking; it’s not meant to push boundaries or reinvent the wheel. It’s a fun little story about a kid in hot water who sinks deeper before rising back up and I hope that if you enjoy that type of story you’ll give it a read.

Thanks,
Harlan
