I…I don’t know what to do…..
Maybe someone out there can help?
I came home from work…tired, hungry and expecting my wife to be waiting for me when I got home. When I walked in the door my wife was standing there smiling and walked over to hug me, she asked how my day was, took off my coat to hang in the closet and kissed my cheek before walking towards the kitchen.
Except it wasn’t my wife.
It looked like her, smelled like her and sounded like my wife….but something behind the eyes felt wrong…darker almost.
I stood in the front hall for a minute not knowing what to do. Before I could react I heard her call out from the kitchen, “Dinner!”
I took off my shoes and as I took my phone from my jacket pocket in the closet when I noticed that I had two missed calls on my phone from an unknown number. I kept it on silent, slipped it in my pants pocket and walked into the kitchen.
She had the table set with a freshly served plate in my usual spot, so I sat down. She sat across from me and looked at me smiling, “Well? Dig in!” I looked down at my plate, it looked like mashed potatoes, corn and what looked like a meat of some sort.
“What kind of meat is this?” I asked her.
She just smiled and looked down at my plate, “Eat,” she said smiling. I could feel my phone buzzing in my pocket again but ignored it.
I tried to laugh at her forcefulness, “Hahaha, I will! What is it though?”
She was no longer smiling, she looked into my eyes and for the first time our gazes were directly locked. Her eyes were empty and cold, almost like they were dead, behind her pupils I saw a flash of dark red, like a gun being fired.
“Eat.” She said through gritted teeth.
Suddenly I felt like my life was in danger. There was something menacing about this thing before me. She was grinding her teeth so hard that I could see little bits of white powder forming in the corner of her mouth and when she decided to smile again I noticed a dark green liquid pooling behind her teeth.
I quickly stood up and excused myself to the bathroom, she stood as well.
“I just have to wash my hands,” I said weakly,
“EAT.” It screamed
I ended up running into the bathroom just as my phone started buzzing again. I locked the bathroom door and could quickly hear her kicking it from the other side. I pulled out my phone to call the police and noticed it was the unknown number calling me again so I answered it.
“HARLAN! DON’T GO HOME!” said the voice on the other end of the phone – It was my wife.
“Holly!? Are I’m at home!” but there was no answer from her end, the call was dropped.
After a few minutes the kicking on the outside of the door stopped. I can’t hear anything right now. I’m currently sitting in the bathroom writing all this on my phone…..
UPDATE 1: I don’t know what to do…
So I left the bathroom fully expecting some sort of altercation, but the hallway was empty.
The house is eerily quiet so I slowly walked back towards the kitchen past the dinner table to grab something more substantial should I need to use it. I ended up leaving the rod and grabbing a kitchen knife, however I kept the spray in my back pocket and grabbed a lighter from the kitchen drawer just in case.
I’ve “cleared” this floor and I don’t see her….or it….whatever it is. However when I got back to the kitchen for the second time upon my house “sweep,” I noticed something I hadn’t before. The “meat” on my plate is gone.
There are greasy brown trails of liquid leaving the plate and heading to the floor……
I quickly backed away and went into my office. I’m back on my computer to update and I’ve moved my electric piano in front of the door for now.
What the hell do I do now?
I’ve decided to get out, get to a hotel or “safe spot” and call my phone company for call log request to see if I can’t track down my wife, she is my only priority right now. The phone call showed up as “UNKNOWN” so I don’t know where she called from.
I’m going to phone the house phone from my cell and hope that creature is interested in keeping up appearances….since my last update a few hours ago I’ve been working on collecting some stuff from my office.
I’ve put a number of supplies that I may need into a backpack and I’ve fashioned a sheath for the knife so I can get at it quickly should I need it. I’ve also taken the baseball bat from behind the office door.
My keys are in my jacket in the closet across the house…so that’s how far I need to make it.
I can still hear whatever is on the other side of the door breathing softly….
Whatever it is – it isn’t my wife…and I’m prepared to do whatever I must.
Update later…if I can.
